Inspiration!!!!

I've been researching people who are currently inspiring me, and whose work I find fascinating, a lot lately. At first I thought I was just procrastinating, but I realised I can use procrastination to my advantage (is that still procrastination??).

After listening to ARTPOP (Mother Monster/Lady Gaga's masterpiece) I found myself google-ing the crap out of Donatella Versace and Versace overall. After doing so, I realised I was inspired to create something. Although there may no visible link between the images I create and the things that inspire me (music, fashion, books etc) there is no doubt I was inspired. I never realised that inspiration can mean just making you feel like working, without being obvious in the resulting work.

 Either that or I am completely misunderstanding the meaning of inspiration. Oh well!

Pam Smy is one of the artists I have been most recently researching as part of my Foundation Art Course (specialising in Illustration). I love finding artists who post not only their final works on the internet, but also pages from their sketchbooks. I suppose that's the psychology student in me being nosy and wanting to know how they and their minds work :)
